I have port 7647 forwarded to the GBPVR desktop IP (192.168.1.101). I can access EWA from the GBPVR desktop (local) using: http://192.168.1.101:7647/gbpvr/manage.aspx

But when I try the access the EWA within the LAN from a laptop it doesn't connect using, http://192.168.1.101:7647/gbpvr/manage.aspx

I have firewalls temporarily turned off on both the desktop and laptop.
I'm not sure where I've gone wrong. Thanks.

If on your LAN you can not get to EWA on the gbpvr server using the above information than either you still have a firewall turned on on the gbpvr server or a networking issue in general.

Try this utility (just download and install into a directory on your laptop or other pc on the LAN).

Then open a command window in that directory and enter:
Code:
[B]portqry -n 192.168.1.101 -p tcp -e 7647[/B]
The ip should resolve and you should get a message that port 7647 is listening.

UJB,

Thanks for the reply. After running the command window on the local GBPVR machine the IP is resolved and "TCP port 7647 <unknown service>: LISTENING".

Does that look right?

I'll have to try the laptop tonight.

thank you!

I've been meaning to look into why EWA stopped working for me.

portqry showed NOT LISTENING.

cause was that I needed to set recording service to interact with the desktop in services.msc.

Yes....that is what I would expect to see on the local gbpvr server.

You should get the same message from PC's on the network.
