Hi,

Perhaps a dumb question, but ... I have port forwarded to NEWA, so I can access it when I'm remote - and it sort of works, but in a lot of cases it's very slow / non-responsive. Is this expected?

Thanks!

PS: it does seem that a password is needed when not on the same subnet - is that as configured? I like it very much! Just trying to understand if this is they way it's set up.

There is a setting on the Admin tab to allow auto-login from local network. You can uncheck the option if you want to log in when on local network.

Is your server connected wirelessly or via wire to the router which is forwarding the incoming port request?

Hi,

I am connected wired - port forwarded by my router (and even tried both TCP and UDP, just in case).

FYI, I have also noticed that if I try to go to TV Guide, I get an immediate error "There was an error processing the request".

Thanks!

Stop the recording service.

Delete all you logs.

Start the recording service.

Access NEWA from the external network.

Post your logs and I can see if I can find what may be causing that error.

What is your up/down speed with your ISP?

Thanks!

This may be an issue with iNEWA which is the current mobile interface for NEWA.

I see you login ok as admin.

I see the redirect to /mobile/default.aspx and assume that is where you are seeing the error.

Can you try simply changing your url on the error page to end with 8866:/guide2.aspx and let me know what happens.

Hi,

Sure! Tried it, and after login ... browser waits for a long time (minutes - finally gave up on it). Logs attached, hopefully that helps!

Odd... nothing looking out of whack..... for grins... stop the recording service, delete the public\npvr\web directory and everything in it then run the npvr install again.

Tried it! No joy ... Sad. I do find that if I'm off the subnet (in either case going to the internet host!), it's a bit better ... still errors though, like the TV guide.

Thanks!

And this behavior does not occur when you are on your internal network? Just happening when you are coming in from the external address? Are you accessing the external address from inside your network or are you truly outside of your network (i.e. not connected to your local network in any way)?
