Hi All,
I'm new to this forum, but after suffering this problem for several days and having just had the same problem occur following a complete hard drive re-format, I am officially stumped...
I have been using GBPVR for several months now, and until recently it has usually worked fine. About 10 days ago when I scheduled a program to record it failed to do so. Accessing the PVRx2 program, under the recording menu there was no record of it. When I was looking through explorer, I noticed there was a folder in the relevant directory, and there was a file under that folder which corresponded to the programme that I had scheduled to record. Double clicking this opened media player where the image was scrambled but I could hear the sound fine (always had the scrambled pic when trying to watch on another program, so not too bothered by that). By going back into PVRX2 and accessing the file through the Video Library tab, I was able to watch the programme. Although as the programme went on the sound and vision seemed to go further and further out of sync. Most confusing.
But it gets worse. Since then, when I try to record several shows in a row, it will record 5.6kb of the first one, and fail all the subsequent ones. But then sometimes it records just fine.
It seemed to start just after I had networked my xbox to my PC, so I thought it was something to do with file sharing, or the firewall, or maybe it was because I had an older version of GBPVR. I updated GBPVR to the latest version, and it kept happening.
I decided that as I was due a reformat I would start fresh, with file sharing turned off. So I've just spent the last 6 hours sorting out the whole pc, only to find that it's doing the same thing as before.
My head is frazzled, I'm at my wits end, and if it doesn't get sorted soon this damn machine is going through the window... PLEASE HELP!!!!

Not sure what you mean by the logs, but the capture device is a Hauppauge Nova-TD.

the logs are by default in... ?:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\logs
Zip them up and attach them to a message.
It also helps if you can indicate what date/time you set the show to record.
In config ensure "logging level" is set to 'debug' on teh first page.

p.s. the times I have similar symptoms is when I have a weak signal dropping out...

edit: - too slow again!

So what were the programs which didn't appear in the recordings? (and what time)
It does look like a bad signal though, this line is all through the recording service-native file

VERBOSE locked=0 present=1 strength=158 quality=-100

I noticed that it couldn't find the GBPVR PSI parser filter either. Try running the reregisterfilters.bat from the gbpvr folder.

Pretty much all of the recordings have failed, although tonight it had recorded what I scheduled... however the file is split into two, one being the 5kb, and the second being the remainder of the recording. And I can't access them through the recording screen, I have to go through the video library screen.

I think of the programmes from the log only 2 recorded, like I said it has a mind of its own! The signal should be OK, we haven't had any bad weather and I actually have a direct line of sight to the aerial mast from my roof!
That said, I will be getting a newer, more powerful aerial before long, so will be interesting to see if that makes a difference.
I have rerun the registerfilters programme. Didn't come up with any errors, so all should be fine there.

Give this a whirl and see what it says (talks directly to driver).
