Hi, my Hauppage remote (45 buttons) has a few buttons not working: TV, Videos, Music, Pictures and Radio don't work. I would really like to know what I can do to make them work... I read lots in the forum, and it seems to me as if those should be working. I did the "fix hauppage remote 45 buttons" or something like that a few times, but it won't enable those buttons. I briefly looked at Irremote.ini, but i'm not too sure what to do with it. If anyone using that remote and has all the buttons working would be kind enough to post his irremote.ini, that would be greatly appreciated! Or, if there is anything I missed please let me know, that would be awesome with my new Harmony remote (click "play music" button and turn on TV, switch GBPVR to the music library, etc etc, I recommend a Harmony remote to anybody!) Right now, I can't really assign this task to the harmony, because the "music" button doesn't do anything on the original Hauppage remote (Harmony remote has the Hauppauge remote device configured, but for it to work, the hauppauge remote itself needs to have the buttons working).

Thanks a lot!

Did you restart the Hauppauge IR software to force it to load the settings?

Do you have the remote type setting set to "Default (Hauppauge)" on the DVD tab of the config app?

What exactly does your Hauppauge remote look like?

Ok... I will sound like I didn't do this before... but I did several times, except now I realize that I might not have done it after upgrading to V1.3.7. So the default (hauppauge remote) was selected in the dvd tab, i re-clicked the fix hauppage 45 buttons, restarted the hauppauge IR software just like I did before, and... it works now. Probably didn't redo this after upgrading. Anyways, thanks for forcing me to redo it! Now my harmony remote works awesome, goes straight to videos, pictures, etc with 1 button (turns on whatever is needed and goes to proper menu in gbpvr). Only the recorded tv doesnt really have a button on the hauppauge remote, but the harmony does, so I might find a way to activate this at one point.

Thanks again. :o

Is there something I missed that tells what each button's job is? I read a little here and there about the red, button, blue button, but I don't know what their assignment is. Can I cahnge the button assignment? Right now I have to right-click on the taskbar icon to open the application.

Thanks.

The Hauppauge remote buttons just simulate keyboard commands. I'm pretty sure there is a keyboard reference list in the wiki. After you see this list, the remote buttons are pretty self-explanatory. The buttons are mapped to the keyboard commands in the irremote.ini file that lives in either the \Windows or \Windows\System32 folder (can't remember which, atm). Open this file with Notepad and find the [PVRX2] section and you will see the remote button to keyboard command mappings.

The first time you install GBPVR, you have to select the remote type and click on the "fix Hauppauge remote" to add the GBPVR commands to the irremote.ini file. You typically don't have to do this for subsequent new versions (at least, I haven't).

If you change anything, you have to restart the IR service (usually under Hauppauge on the start menu) for the changes to take effect.
