I'm not 100%, but I believe I'm not getting dolby through this setup (server below). I have the SPDIF optical hooked up, and I'm running AC3filter telling it to go wild on the dolby. Maybe my sources are not, but I'm wondering if anyone has this setup or something similar or even your experiences with Dolby.

What source are you using? QAM, ATSC or line in? I get Dolby digital on all of my ATSC channels although not all of them are 5.1. I am not using the onboard sound on my system. I have a Sound Blaster Fatality Gamer sound card. I also get a Dolby Digital logo that flashes for a sec whenever I tune an ATSC channel. Are you routing the sound through a home theater receiver? If yes it should detect the Dolby Digital signal and show that it is receiving it.

I haven't checked on the hd channels, but I was playing some .mkv and .avi files that I thought to have Dolby. I will check it and get back to you. Yes, it's through the home theater.

Ok, I actually managed to get DTS on a torrent file so I know it's working. I haven't tried the recordings yet. What I'll do is check to see if I'm getting dolby on a live channel through my cable box and then run and record it on gbpvr.

Got it all sorted out. There was a filter merit issue where AC3filter was NOT being used for most things. Got it worked out, made AC3Filter the highest merit and now I get DTS and Dolby too. Sounds amazing!

Glad to hear that you sorted it out. I had to fiddle with the settings on my system to finally get Dolby digital on everything.

Gazoo, can you give me more detail on how you went about setting this up? Like you, I cannot get DTS or Dolby using the AC3 filter.
