Problem:
1. Audio disappears when moving from one recorded tv program to another. To get the audio back, I have to exit out of the PVRX2 program and re-start it. Sequence of events are as follows:
A. In the recording menu, I select a recorded tv program and select play.
B. I then select stop on the currently playing recorded tv program.
C. I then navigate to a different recorded tv program and select play. The audio can no longer be heard.

2. The Video is a little jittery as well. I used some ones suggestion on replacing the directX 9.0c quartz.dll file with the directX 9.0b quartz.dll file. This cleared the jitter a little but still does not appear as smooth as it should.

I reproduced the Audio issue stated in problem number 1 at approx. 3:15pm CST on 1/9/2009 and zipped up all the logs in the log directory as requested by "SUB". I will attach the zip file in this thread.

Thanks for any help on the disappearing audio issue.

What audio decoders have you tried? Dont use the Microsoft 'MPEG Audio Decoder', it doesnt connect, which causes directshow to try another audio decoder, and can cause problems down the track.

All I can suggest is trying different video decoders or possibly video renderer.

You were right, it was the "MPEG audio Decoder" causing the issue. I changed to "InterVideo NonCSS Audio Decoder for Hauppauge" option and that corrected the audio disappearing issue when switching between different recordings.

Thanks, you guys are great! in these forums helping all us newbies!!

When installing differnet video decoders, do I have to install them in a specific location on the harddrive? Where does GBPVR look so the newly installed video decoder get listed as one of the selections in Video Decoder pulldown under the Playback tab of the GB-PVR Configuration?

Thanks again

It doesnt matter where you install them, but GB-PVR will only list ones that are listed in the 'Supported Decoders' settings in config.xml.
