Help building an extender box

The livetv delay right now for me is 8-10 seconds. Because of the buffering HD is probably faster because the minimum buffer values are reached faster.

How important this is depends on your viewing habits. After 20 years of satellite tv and digital cable it has been a long time since I surfed channels randomly, and didn't go by the guide. Over the course of an evening of true livetv for me that probably adds up to less than a minute or two of time.

I guess I will go with gbpvr instead of sagetv. GBPVR is cost effective for starters, and i think with a community that has made this website and the forum a success, I don't think I can go wrong.

can anyone tell me what "gb" stands for in gbpvr? I'm assuming the creator's initials but would like to confirm.

Yep. It was originally going to be a temporary name, but years later I dont see us changing it now...
