Earlier this week another machine gave me trouble recording, giving me 0 file sizes and not showing live tv. I thought it was the firewall and removed then readded gbpvr and it worked.
Now a second machine is doing this as well but this time, nothing I do, reregister filters, remove and add to the firewall, turn off firewall, turn off antivirus etc. will allow the HDHR to show live tv or record. Again, works just fine in Media Center. The channels mapped perfectly as well.
Logs enclosed.

OK, what makes the HDHR work prohibits the 2250 from working and vice versa.
In this post to get the 2250 to work I to true and that's what stopped the HDHR from live tv and recording but allowed the 2250 to play live tv. Setting it back to false fixes the HDHR but now the 2250 won't find any QAM channels. Even if I use the Migration tool to copy the mapped channels from teh HDHR to the 2250, no live tv or recording on the 2250. I can live with that.

Try the attached patch. Set <BDAUseGenericNPForATSC> to false in config.xml.

You can now edit bda.ini to set "USE_GENERIC_NP=1" for a particular device.

After adding the line to bda.ini and using the patch, the 2250 finds QAM channels and maps them but still no live tv or recording. Only get a black screen for live tv and 0 file size for recordings.
The HDHR is working as it should.

On live TV, if you channel up/down after entering live TV, does it start working? I know it won't help with recordings but that works for me on Live TV. I'm sure sub will get it worked out eventually.

sub, I had rewired a bunch of stuff in my basement for my new server and forgot to reconnect the test machine in case you had tried to remote to it. It's fixed now.

I have tried this in the past but did not try it after making the latest changes but I don't expect it to work. I'll post back later with results.
Thanks

The answer is yes and no. The higher channel is analog so if I channel up and back down, it grabs the analog channel and keeps the analog tuner when going back to the QAM station.
The lower channel is mapped QAM so channeling down and back up again still leaves me with a black screen. And, no recording on that QAM tuner either.
