Hi,
Why are there several recording-dump.xml files like...
recording-dump.xml.1
recording-dump.xml.2
recording-dump.xml.3
Just want to understand this behavior. Is there some way to always have it append to the one and only recording-dump.xml file?

Also would be a good feature to allow to configure gbpvr to write the filename to include either the program subtitle, or program description. Right now, I search for recordings in the xml file, copy the description, then rename my file with the description from the recording-dump.xml file.

those are auto backups of the recording-dump file, which is a complete dump of your recorded programs.

It used to only generate one but it was decided that many backups would be more useful.

You could probably write something to play with it if you wanted difference behaviour.

You can also get this information by opening the metadata stream in notepad. For example, I have a recording:

Code:
J:\Recordings\Criminal Minds\Criminal Minds_20091111_21002200.ts

If I append ":metadata.xml" to the filename and open it in notepad (use quotes if there are spaces in the path):

Code:
notepad "J:\Recordings\Criminal Minds\Criminal Minds_20091111_21002200.ts[B]:metadata.xml[/B]"

I get the following:

Code:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<recording>
  <filename>J:\Recordings\Criminal Minds\Criminal Minds_20091111_21002200.ts</filename>
  <channel>912 WLKYDT</channel>
  <status>READY</status>
  <startTime>2009-11-11 21:00:00</startTime>
  <endTime>2009-11-11 22:00:00</endTime>
  <title>Criminal Minds</title>
  <subtitle>The Performer</subtitle>
  <description>The team investigates when a trail of murders seems to align with a rock star's tour schedule.</description>
