I am trying to find out what needs to run at startup so that my MVP automatically connects to GB-PVR. I would also like GB-PVR to automatically startup on my PC when I boot up.

I know that the Hauppauge stuff runs at conflict, so do I need to disable it in msconfig?

Can someone take me through what needs to run and what needs to be disabled?

Basically when I boot my computer, I want to be able to see GB-PVR in full screen on my monitor and then the same interface on my TV (through the MVP of course).

THANKS!

I'm not sure how to do the quote yet, but here goes my best answers... Disclaimer being that I'm still learning GBPVR even after only playing with it a little more than a week..

My GBPVR has a service that runs automatically at startup. Now I have to login to my machine so I'm not entirely sure if it is running before I login. Easy enough to check from another computer, I'll check that.. someone else may respond before I can this evening...

What Hauppauge stuff are you talking about? If it's the scheduler, just remove what you have in the
WinTV scheduler. And for the GBPVR running full screen..

I think if you are the ONLY account on the system it can login straight to your desktop (I don't use that in XP myself) and you COULD put the GBPVR shortcut in your start-up group. For your MVP, check the playback tab, on the top right there is an item that asks how many MVP servers you want started, it's 0 by default.

I think that's it.. (recalling from memory)

Don't bother with ms config, just remove any Hauppauge stuff in your startup folder. and Stop the service from the Hauppauge menu.

Uncheck the Windowed mode in GBPVR config general screen.
and put GBPVR shortcut in the startup folder, right click on start button and explore all users if you don't know.

Should work, I'll try it myself tonight.

To permanently stop the hauppauge services you have 2 options.

1. Remove the hauppauge MVP software from your computer.
2. Right click on the "My Computer" icon and select "Manage".
Go to the "services" branch and click on this.
Look through the services for the 2 hauppauge ones, and for
each entry, hightlight them and stop them. You can also change
the properties of these anc change them from automatic to manual.

Cheers,
Colin.

I stopped the Hauppauge services (and changed the startup to manual) for mine the same way Colin suggested, works well. Unless you change the startup to manual, as he said, they will restart the next time you boot your system.

I was not clear if you knew from your post, but you do not have to run GB_PVR on your computer in order to have it run from your MVP. Just make sure that under the MVP settings in config.exe you set the number of services to start to 1 (or more if you have multiple MVPs).

You can set your computer to autologin on bootup by using the TweakUI from Microsoft Powertoys (google and find the one for your OS). You can also use
Start->Run->Control Userpasswords2.
