Can't configure tuner cuz Taiwan not in list

Hey everyone, I'm new to GB PVR so bear with me please if I've overseen something ...

I just installed GB PVR (windows 7 ultimate 64 + Videomate Vista E900F) .. I went through the configuration options, and I think the program looks great, robust,..

I can't click on live TV and I think it's because I haven't configured my card yet. When I go to the TuningAssistant, I can choose my card, but my country (Taiwan) is not on the list...

I've tried to select other countries as a work-around, but this ended up with either a blue-screen-of-death or just death-without-blue-screen (and a 10 hour rebuild of my 7TB raid10 collection..)

Before ripping any hairs out... am I just SOL here? Is there a reason why we're not on the list? There is full support for Taiwan on Windows7 MCE so at least I can keep using that, it's just I would love to try out GB PVR and maybe integrate it with xbmc too~

On the Capture Sources tab of Config, click Add and select Digital Recording Plugin. Compro E900F should be in the list of devices.

You can try Country --> All Region and Region --> All Channels.

On the Create Capture Source screen, select an EPG Source. You can try DVB Broadcast if you don't have an XMLTV source for Taiwan.

The 'Videomate Vista E900F' is only usable for digital in GB-PVR. You wont be able to use it for analog tv. The Tuning Assistant is only for analog TV, so you dont need to worry about that.

For digital scan, do the 'All Countries / All Regions' scan mentioned above.

Any BSOD etc will be caused by flakey driver or other driver/hardware instability, not GB-PVR.

Oh... that's too bad I only use it for analog tuning. Digital television in taiwan is broadcasted by air and is limited to about 19 channels. It's alright when you're stuck in traffic but at home it doesn't really cut it.

It's a great anolog dual tuner though, I've been using it as a replacement ever since my ati died. Wonder why it is not supported for analog tuning in GB PVR...

In any case, that explains why nothing is working

GBPVR is written to work with analog tuners that have a hardware encoder that outputs a stream in a standard video format (e.g. MPEG2). Most digital tuners output in a standard video format and work with GBPVR.
