It looks like I'm going to have to go all Cable Box here... cable guy just told me anything other than 2-13 will be encrypted. I have the boxes... but how do I get my PC to blast >2.

Right now, I have a haup beanbag w/ 1 IR blaster.

i'd say get a mce beanbag as it has at least 2 blasters you could use separately...Smile
beyond that i'm not sure...as you can't have 2 mce dongles in machine at once..
[i don't think, will have to try it as i do have 2..lol]

i haven't heard of any that allow multiple units to work together, except diff. hardware models..
[possibly add a usbuirt also?]

oh yea, HIP can store multiple stb codes and blast them all with same hardware...Big Grin
[and my net2hipsend can use them separately]
not sure how it would be if they all wanted to blast same time tho..
[i would assume hip deals with that]

hip can't control haupp. hardware tho..but no prob on cheap mce hardware..

So... If I had 1 IR blaster, and 3 STBs, it would just send a code for each one?

One problem, 2 of the boxes have the same remote signals... so if I blasted at both of them, they would both change.

that's what the mulitple eyes are for...isolate them so they can't blast into eachother's stb, then direct the signal to only the appropriate eye port..
and either one could handle the different stb with the diff codes...

make sure to get a real mce beanbag or at least that it has 2 blaster eyes..

You could perhaps try firewire channel changing for one or more of the boxes. I use it for one box and it works fine - not sure if it can cope with more than one. Probably can if each box is a separate capture source and you have more than one firewire port on your HTPC. Take a look at this to get started:

http://home.comcast.net/~exdeus/stbfirewire/

Works very well with Motorola boxes and a few others, apparently not with some newer ones.

Good luck.

I ordered an HP Beanbag and IR blaster.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...K:MEWNX:IT

None of the boxes I have take Firewire.

I have the 500, I'm gonna put one of the DTA boxes (only has coax in/out) on the 500's coax, and the main cable box (w/ RCA out) on the RCA of the 500. Then I'll put the second DTA (only coax in/out) into the 150.

I'll see how it works.
