SUB,
Recently, (and only on a few channels) when I go into the TV Guide and select a channel to watch no picture or sound comes up until I hit the PAUSE button to start the recording session. Then after a second or two the picture appears and when I release the PAUSE button picture and sound are good as any other channel. Again this only happens on a few channel. Logs attached. Any Idea what's causing this and how to correct it?

I have the same issue with some DVB-T and S channels - it's the tuning parameters in the scan.cache file. GBPVR seems a lot more picky over tuning live preview mode than timeshift or recording. Have you tried a rescan of those channels? From your logs you are using ATSC/QAM and I have no idea if anything I've said is relevant there! Still, I find it very annoying that live TV is far more picky than timeshift/recording and dont see any reason for it since the channels work perfectly in timeshift/record mode...

Code:
FindFilterByName failed to locate filter: GB-PVR PSI Parser

not sure if it's needed for live preview, but try running ReRegisterFilters.Bat from the GBPVR folder

The broadcaster has changed the audio video pids since you originall scanned. Originally they were 2688/2689. They're now 2496/2497. Playback of .ts files doesnt need to know the pids, which is why it starts working when you pause.

As JonnyCam said though, running ReRegisterFilters.bat may also help. It tries to detect incorrect pid mappings and correct them in live tv sessions. (though it doesnt store them, just uses them dynamically, so the best fix is to probably rescan and remap that channel)

SUB,
Thanks for the input. Tried changing 2688/2689 to 2496/2497 (assuming that this was correct) but it didn't work. I had already run the ReRegisterFilters before posting and did so again after JonnyCams suggestion, again no change.

Is there a utility that will take the pain out of rescanning and mapping? I seem to have to do this once every 45 to 60 days (which takes 2 hrs each time to go through ~100 channels) because the carrier keeps changing channels frequencies on different channel sets/clusters.

I have a SiliconDust Dual tuner and XPsp3 on a dual core.

Unfortunately you'd need to rescan and remap the channels.

Most broadcasters dont change this type of stuff often, so hopefully yours will settle down soon.

Sub,
Any idea when you're releasing the new release?
Are you going to include the drag and drop feature suggested in the Wish List for mapping channels?
Unrelated to this, the Free EPG that I'm using MC2XML doesn't seem to have up-to-date listings cause I'm getting program listings of programs that are not in that time slot. Can you recommend another FREE EPG that works?

Thanks again.

I'm hoping to get the next release out in a couple of weeks.

There is already some small changes to the mapping in the next release. Hopefully this change wouldnt be required.

Sorry, I dont know. I'm not in the US, so not that familiar with the finer details of how good/bad each of the EPG sources are for that part of the world.

You may have already done this in your new release, but it would be nice if the selection list on the channel mapping (left) side matched the selection list on the preview channel (right) side. It's a sorting issue.

Maybe you can tell me which ones you've tried? or that exist? or that are Free that you are aware of? ........ANYONE can comment on this.

Thanks

I dont think I've even tried a US EPG source in the last year, and even then I didnt spend any time looking at the listings to see how accurate they were - I just wanted to see they loaded.

From what I've read, the majority of people use either mc2xml or Schedules Directory. The latter is a pay service though. I'm not sure what other services exist. I think there use to be some other utilities to get listings from titantv and other places, but I'm not sure if those still exist or not.
