Wiz Rename Recording

I've tried various parameters for renaming recordings, with Wiz Rename Recordings, but files are sometimes not renamed. For example, using {show} - {episode} usually works, but occasionally, a file is not renamed.

For example, most episodes of Cheers are renamed, but some are left looking like this - Cheers_20100504_03000330

Any ideas why this is happening?

next time it fails, take a look in devnz\gbpvr\logs\WizRenameRecording.log

I figured it out. For whatever reason, some episodes of some shows do not have episode names. I have Wiz set up to rename each recording to the show name, followed by the episode name. If there is an episode without an episode name, Wiz renames that episode to the show name only. Not a problem...

However, if another episode of the same show is recorded without an episode name, Wiz cannot rename that episode, because the resulting file name already exists.

yes, common problem. you could alter your mask to use something like {[show] - ([episode] or [date])} , not sure of the syntax.
