Hello,
I'm having trouble with GB-PVR 1.4.7. I'm trying to use it to control my TV Tuner card (a Woot special). I think its a Pinnacle PCTV HD PCI card. My machine is a several month old Win 7 Pro x64 box. As far as I'm viewing ClearQAM directly off my cable system.
When I try to tune in a channel I will sometimes get "This channel is currently encrypted" with a bargraph showing 0 signal and 0 quality. The channel isn't encrypted. Sometimes it happens immediately, other times it happens after viewing for a while. Sometimes I can cure it by quitting LiveTV and restarting, sometimes I can't. Sometimes I can cure it by leaving GB-PVR and sometimes I can't. Sometimes I can cure it by resetting the GB-PVR recording service, and sometimes I can't. Sometimes I can cure it by rebooting and sometimes I can't. Whenever the process is interrupted, say because Windows Firewall wants permission to do something, it will usually give me the channel is currently encrypted. Also, sometimes after encountering this, if you can get it to work again, the channels will be messed up. i.e. the same 5 channels will repeat over and over and over again over all the channels (this can be cured by rebooting, and ONLY rebooting).
I was initially thinking maybe its the video card, but Windows Media Center doesn't seem to have these problems (of course it has other problems, like needing a cable card to watch basic cable channels). So I'm pretty confident this is a software issue. I'm pretty much at my wit's end, could someone please suggest something useful?
thanks!
