anyone know how to get a WS dvd to fill the screen? (just the standard 1.77:1 aspect ratio not 2.25:1 (ill worry about those later)).

i have ffdshow to "no aspect ratio correct" "raw video - all supported", in gbpvr "use ffdshow is available". it can do it fine under zoomplayer. just trying to get it to fill the screen in gbpvr, i have gbpvr in "fullscreen mode" running hdtv at 576P (720x576). my tv is picking up the signal as a widescreen signal (which is a really good thing, since its a widescreen tv). just i get black bars on a normal ws dvd, when it should just fill the screen.

wasnt sure if i should put this under support, hardware, wishlist, blah blah blah. decided here is good enough.

anyone had success with dvd playback under gbpvr? i dont want to use zoomplayer since the hauppauge remote apparently doesnt work, and you have to pay for it.

cheers,
reven.

yes, i use dvd-playback through gbpvr. there is an aspect-ratio problem with gbpvr when playing back non-dvd-files.
dvd-playback depends on the decoder: i use windvd and the aspect ratio is fine. using powerdvd fits the video to the screen: no borders, incorrect aspect ratio.

sometimes the dvd-playback stops when there is a title-change on the dvd, but i don't know, if it's gbpvr causing this problem or the decoder.

sub said, it's on the todo-list.

yeah im using nvdvd, ill try a different decoder, i was using windvd but it caused gbpvr and zoomplayer to crash. i think i have powerdvd somewhere, ill try that. (tried every aspect ratio thing in the gbpvr config).

cheers man.

oh and you can fix the aspect ratio with every other file by using ffdshow (just get the latest then under "resize and something" click "maintain original aspect ratio" (names might be off but you get the idea).

ok after trying about every dvd decoder i could get my hands on, the only one i managed to get to do fullscreen with no black borders on a widescreen dvd (16:9 not 2.25:1) was nvdvd, however with nvdvd i could get the cursor/selector (whatever you want to call it) to be shown in the menus, everything is drawn fine, you just have no idea what you are selecting. every other decoder did this fine, but all had black bars, i tried windvd, power dvd, sonic, tried another well known one (but i forgot the name [Image: smile.gif]).

i tried downloading a patch for the nvdvd but no joy, nvdvd produced the best results, just the menu thing, errr i getting mad.

anyone have any ideas? also anyone know if the "Preferred mode" actually does anything (ive tried every option in every dvd decoder, and they had no effect).

yay! i got nvdvd to show the menu selector! i needed a registry thingy for mce 2004 from nvdvd (not running mce2004 but i assume gbpvr and mce2004 plays dvds the same way). now i have widescreen dvds with the menu working. now if i only could zoom [Image: rock.gif]
