How to force HDMI output

I have a GForce 7600 graphics card connected to TV through HDMI. If the NPVR machine rebooots while TV is switched off the output reverts to VGA so that when I switch on the TV there is a black display. Can I somehow force the output even if no display is detected on reboot?

Assuming there isn't a simple solution, read up on EDID overrides, and/or be prepared to cough up for something like the Gefen HDMI Detective.

I had a similar issue with an ATI card, I could not get any of the EDID apps to work...the only workaround I found was to setup a hot key to rotate the screen 90° then back again....this for me caused the video card output to reset waking up the screen

I have an ATI card and tried all the EDID tricks.....none worked. Bought a Gefen HDMI Detective and..................job done!

I dont have a solution but from the pricing of the Gefen HDMI detective and assuming you do not have onboard video card, it seems it would be cheaper to buy a video card that works unless it is a TV issue of detection

Look for a little utility called HDMIon. If you Google, you should be able to find the discussion of it. It may solve your problem. I programmed a remote button to run it.

Do you have dual displays activated in nVidia settings? If so, deactivate it. Works for me on my GT 220.
