In addition to setting the 'Hauppauge TV Server' to 'manual startup', you'd also need to have deleted the WinTV Tray shortcut in the startup group.

This is only an issue for the PVR150/500/250/350, since these old devices didnt allow multiple graphs (with only one-running) to be constructed at the same time. More modern devices do not have this limitation.
