I upgraded my setup from GBPVR to NPVR this weekend, and generally it was painless. sub, I've been using GBPVR for about 8 months, and it's worked quite well; thanks for all your hard work on it.

I ran into a few issues with NPVR that I haven't been able to work out, and was hoping someone may be able to help.

1. I don't see how to do GBPVR's equivalent to "play all" in videos. This is absolutely crucial for kids videos Smile

2. I miss "shuffle" on videos from GBPVR.

3. The info button doesn't seem to work when playing back recorded programs or videos (this is on an MCE remote on Win 7). Other places in the GUI recognize Info fine, and CTRL-B works while playing back, but not the Info button.

4. Skipping forward/back doesn't display the timeline bar while you're pressing the skip button-- you let go, and it displays. Means you have to press & guess, and then let go to find out if you're right.

I ran into a couple of glitches too that I'm not sure I want to make a big deal of until I can come up with a reliable repro scenario. In case these may be known issues or they're of interest:

5. Recorded a 1 hr program that I added 90 mins to the end time. Started playing back while it was still recording, and the timeline was totally wrong (showed as several hours), and skipping around was way too short (i.e. 1 min skip was like 20 secs, although the timeline showed that it skipped 1 min). The timeline on the completed recording seems to be fine, except that the recording hangs at the 1 hr mark. Maybe the OTA recording recorded some garbage around 1 hr that messed things up?

6. I'm not sure recurring recordings are reliable. I used the searchlite plugin to make some recurring recordings, but even a forced EPG update, they didn't show up in the pending list. I noticed that the recurring recordings I scheduled with searchlite show up differently in the recurring list than ones I schedule from the Guide, so maybe this is a plugin problem. Need to investigate this some more...

Thanks again for all the work on this app, and thanks in advance for any help.

If you have installed SearchLite from the wiki, I did forget to post this update that addresses one recurring recording issue. http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post399350

I have seen your no 5 once but a change of decoders fixed it for me. I was watching something on BBC1 HD while it was still recording, using the latest Cyberlink H264 decoder and it did this. Timeline said it was about 18 hours long and the skip was useless. I switched back to the MS H264 decoder and it was fine, never done it since.

There is a couple of hidden tricks you can do. If you have a folder highlighted on the list, and press 'play', then it'll queue the files in the directory and play them.

Also, if you're in a directory of files, and have [..] selected, then press 'play', it'll the least recently watched, or oldest if none have been watched. Not quite what you asked for, but can be useful if the kids want to play a video thay havnt seen recently.

Ok, I've added this for the next release.

I just tried this here, and when I press (and hold) skip the timeline appears and continues to update as the skipping continues. The behaviour might vary depending on the renderer you're using though.

Skipping is definitely more accurate when the recording has completed. It tries it's best skipping while recording, but there is a lot of guess work involved and some data can cause problems.

It sounds like Martin's patch should fix that.

I would like to put in a vote on behalf of the wife for Shuffle and Play All too. Specifically Play All on the MVP. She starts playing a folder of shows when she goes to bed and loved the ability to shuffle and play a whole folder. Just set the sleep timer and it's all good.

I appreciate all that you do, just wanted to add a vote for these features.
