I have just installed nPVR and after a wee bit of a struggle (my own fault) I have it working and recording :-)

I used to use gbpvr via the web interface but I dont seem to be able to get the same functionality (NEWA??) working under nPVR ... I have the webserver enabled in the settings with the default port (8866) and username and password, but I cannot connect to it :-(

I was under the impression that it was bundled into nPVR

The dreaded windows firewall is disabled - I can ping the machine OK and it can access the network OK

Is there a logfile that would give me a clue??

Any help/advice welcome ...

Are you visiting the correct URL? ie. http://127.0.0.1:8866/ from the server machine.

I tried http://127.0.0.1:8866/ on the local machine and http://prancer:8866/ from a remote machine.

I can ping "prancer" - so the name is correct.

I had a similar issue when I first installed onto Win7Pro. With GBPVR on XP I never had a problem. Initially the firewall was an issue but even with that turned off I did not initially have access. From memory, as few restarts and a bit of cussin' did the trick :-)

No other security software or firewall that could be getting in the way?

It's been restarted quirte a few times - it's a clean install of XP after a HD failure which forced my hand to upgrade to nPVR.

Consequently, there are no anti virus tools installed (yet) and the windows firewall is firmly disabled.

One thing I have noticed is that the nPVR tray icon is started at boot time but if I use it to restart the nPVR service it throws an error - could this be related??

Have you checked that the recording service is really running? Run Services.msc and check for NPVR Recording Service.
