Finally while doing some of my day job stuff the penny (or lots of pennies in this case) dropped & I understand what is happening now, because of the three skins it isn't actually using anything but the Background & ButtonStrip out of the base stuff therefore the ButtonStip will always be behind anything I do in the other skins..... bugger.

but I could add another optional element that I could render after base if I find it. Martin

Before base actually to keep the ButtonStrip rendering after it & what you added was just what I needed thank you so much for this it does make a BIG difference to the look of my skin
