My point was more like: You can't expect Sub to take higth for every scenario that a user can invent.

Well, yes and no in this case.. which I chose to report it. NPVR has a Window mode, it's fully conceivable that a user might modify something while it is running. NPVR also supports media on external volumes, again, it's possible that someone (like me!) would be modifying something while it would be running too.

If sub wants to fix it, grand. I have no vested interest either way.

It sounds strange that it would hard lock the computer. I'm not sure how that'd be possible.

It's possible it's my environment. It was on a server share on my Linux box using Samba. I've seen Samba do some strange things.
