NPVR so slow changing channels..

I have a related problem, would appreciate any suggestions. I just moved from GB-PVR to NPVR, it all went very smoothly and I'm up and running. I've run into a problem though - I use a HD-PVR w/ a STB switched over Firewire. On my last 2 programs the recording starts before the channel switch, and the STB had been set to a SD channel. The resulting file, with ~120 frames of SD video followed by the HD is causing comskip to cack. Is it possible to delay the recording to allow the channel switch? If not any suggestions on a command line ts trimmer so I can trim the 1st 30 sec off?

Your safest bet is to tell your STB to output a constant video resolution, I opted for 720p. I've made several "wishes" to have sub tune the channel graph twice to avoid this but sub isn't to keen on doing this and really the stability of my HDPVR is great with constant input.

You don't really want to cut the file, you will lose the major benefits of the Timing.Info file.

Hey Martin! Great to hear from you - I was going to post in the NMT forum that your nmtinstall2 worked a treat, my PCH worked 1st try!

I have kept my STB at 720P ever since you recommended it so I don't think that's the problem. Trimming 30 sec off has allowed comskip to process the file, but I don't want to lose the Timing.info. I will ask Erik if there's a way to get comskip to ignore te 1st 30 sec, and I will go add my voice to yours asking for a delay between channel change and recording.
