Hi,

I have set daily EPG update for 2:00 AM, option "wake machine" is checked.

I had a look into my machine's BIOS. There is an option "resume by alarm" but no time is set here. I would have expected something different.

Any ideas?

TIA

i think gbpvr does not use the bios' functionality to wake the computer.

Wake up will not work when computer is powerd OFF. It will only work with standby and hibernation...

(P.S: Du stellst die gleichen Fragen wie ich seinerzeit...)

Hibernate does not work for me. Only standby. AFAIK, the only way to wake a machine from standby is wake on LAN and wake on USB. There is a wake on ring but...... The firefly remote uses a USB reciever. That is how they can wake up a machine from standby. I think there is an API that gb-pvr uses to achieve this.

10 minutes after recording my Pundit goes to standby (3 watt / windows energy options).
GB-PVR can wake my PC, but if you have a PVR350 you can get a problem with it.

Funnily enough...... I posted a question on this BB about 2 months ago on hibernate etc. Problem I had was that gb-pvr was running but all i could see was the colour bars. I created the batchfile and start the .exe and it fixed it. Its been like it ever since without any probs.

strange. I have this problem now. Starting the .exe is easy, but how to stop the running client?

Yesterday they told my to use pskill, but this will stop gbpvr.exe in a bad manner. the colorbars will not go away.

stopping and restarting manually with my mouse works...

OK this is what I do. Search for "GBPVRWake.exe". Download this and stick it in your gbpvr dir. Create a file called wake.bat. In that file stick this text:

gbpvr.exe -topmost

put wake.bat in your gbpvr dir. You should end up with 2 extra files in your gbpvr dir. GBPVRWake.exe and wake.bat.

Create a shortcut to GBPVRWake.exe and wake.bat in startup.

When the pvr boots it will start the GBPVRWake.exe and run wake.bat which will start gb-pvr and be in focus.

This will sort the problem. If this is not clear PM me or reply.
