Screen problem after waking from sleep

I know this isn't an issue with NextPVR, but thought someone here might have seen something like this.

I recently rebuilt my computer and after hooking it up to my TV, every time it wakes from sleep the screen distorted so that only about the top half of the screen is displayed. It is though the resolution is messed up. It is as though the resolution is set to something bizarre like 1200x1800 and the bottom half is off the bottom of the screen, if that makes sense. When I restart it, it is fine until it goes to sleep again. This didn't happen when it was hooked up to an actual monitor, only when I hooked it up to my TV via S-Video.
Is this an issue with my video card?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

if you can, turn off any display auto-detection features in the graphics card driver.

you might also try a resolution setting utility like reso (http://www.bcheck.net/apps/reso.htm). nrecord will call the script wakeup.bat when it resumes from sleep, so it might help to reset the resolution from there.

edit: actually reso might not be the best utility to use, as it's designed to set the resolution when launching a program. however, there are undoubtedly plenty of utilities out there that can set the resolution from a command line.
