Recording service can not be reached

I have a WINTV HVR 1255 installed and working with Windows Media and WinTV however I really want to use NextPVR. After installing and searching for channels which were identified I attempted to view live TV. I was presented with an error stating "Unable to communicate with recording service" I have installed all pre-requisites and disabled the windows firewall. I do not have any other firewalls installed. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the npvr.log and nrecord.log and I'll take a look.

I had the same problem this morning after running the update and patches.

Rebooting the PC resolved the problem, probably something simple like a service not restarting.

There is no sign of errors in your nrecord.log, so I'm guessing it's some firewall issue blocking communication between nextpvr.exe and nrecord.exe. Otherwise you can check to see if there is any message in the windows event log about the recording service stopping (since the logs dont show it stopping).
