I just found out the E940 has an IR extender at the back so....I was wondering instead of blasting is there a male to male connector that can go from the hdpvr/mce dongle ir blaster to the ir port of the E940?

is it just a male to male audio jack?

EDIT:
it might be possible:

I'll give it a go later once I get the cables.

A 1/8" mono male-male should work. You can use stereo as well but you don't need to do so.

ummm, you can't plug the ir out from hdpvr directly to the ir blaster port, even if it's a receiver port, as the electrical isn't the same..
plugging a blaster's wires to a ir eye's wires will likely blow it, as the blaster puts out much more voltage to the ir led than the eye produces does when it receives ir..
[think hooking a speaker wire to a microphone input wire...waayyyy too loud on the mic]

that link is talking about only extending the eye's wire with 1/4 in plugs/cables..still having an ir eye on the end..

good point...I'll drop this idea. I was wondering why no one else would do this.

i've had great results with ir blasting, so much so that i've stayed with it despite having a usb option on my stb...
it usually comes down to placement of the eye and having good recorded codes..[shorter the better]
i haven't missed a ch. change for over 2 years now.. Big Grin
