Tonight, I read about a Homeland (series) marathon starting on the 13th where over 3 days all 25 episodes are going to be broadcast. It's a show I want to see over the Holidays, so I phoned my cable to subscribe (it is pay cable here) which took 5 minutes. In five minutes I a dded the 6 channels to the EPG, and it would be even faster if NextPVR's suggested the Schedules Direct channels for since the channel and call letter matched. In 7 minutes my EPG update finished, and a minutes latter all 25 episodes were scheduled as a recurring recording. Hopefully NextPVR is up to to this marathon and I can remember to leave me server alone!

Sadly I got off on the wrong foot the very first episode didn't record, so NextPVR fails this test. I need S01E01before I can watch the others.

Homeland.S01E02.Grace.ts
Homeland.S01E03.Clean Skin.ts
Homeland.S01E04.Semper I.ts
Homeland_20121213_17001800.ts (In progress)

I think it is available On Demand though, which is a royal pain in headless mode, nevertheless there is a way forward.

Let me just say that this show is awesome. The weekend is the season 2 finale. It was much better than I ever expected.

Thanks Paul, I've read good things, but being on a high-tier ($15 month) cable channel here I don't know "real" people that have watched it. I am really looking forward to watching it and my wife is on board too. Now that shows are going into their Christmas break, it seems like the perfect time.

The bonus is if I am luckier over the next few day recording I will be able to cancel the channel after the season 2 finale airs. They pro-rate it so it will cost like $1.50, since it's on a 1/2 price promotion.

I happen to get Showtime for 2 years free when I signed a 2 year 'deal' with my cable company (also got $100 back). It's almost over and I'm not going to pay the $15 a month for the channel unless they let me sign another 'deal'.
The acting is very good and I wasn't expecting to like it so much. Everyone I know who's seen it, loves it and is hooked.

I thought I'd be smart and capture episode 1 On Demand yesterday using TME. Checking all my recordings from yesterday this is what I see. Grrr Note to self, exit On Demand when done. Now I have to do it 7 more times, I really jinxed myself by starting this thread.

BTW I wish I could have used capture4me (you guys should try it if you haven't) It is sub's simple capture app perfect for this kind of task, but it forces me to display the screen which takes 50-70% CPU.

My usual one is "press backup to continue" ;(
Why can't STB makers put timeouts on things like this?
