I knew this was coming from Comcast that they are converting to digitaltv and my mutiple legacy tuners coming to the end. I received the message "If you can see this message, the TV your're watching isn't yet ready for Comcast's digital network enhancements". It is my time to cancel my basic cable TV and use OTA exclusively now Sad.

I have great times with GBPVR and enjoy it over the years.

Thanks Sub.

Comcast converted to digital for me about two years ago. They provide 2 small DTA PACE boxes and 1 motorola. I use a USB-UIRT to change channels and pass the signal to my PVR-500 and HVR-1600. Works great, but analog does suck next to digital.
I also have the HDPRIME from Silicon dust, perfect picture, and it has 3 tuners.
Hypervisor Host, Linux Ubuntu VM, recording to QNAP NAS, NXTPVR 7.0.1.241229

Of course comcast just started chaging $2/mo for each of those DTA you got 2 years ago. Those only cost them $35 each back then.

The first cablecard is free I believe so the Prime is the way to go.

It varies. I'm charged $1.10/mo for my first CC. Totally the way to go, even if you have basic cable. Also, there are maybe twice as many channels for me on basic with CC, than with clear QAM.

I pay $1.98 a month no matter how many cards I have (I have 2) and I wonder how long it will be before they increase the prices or worst, stop offering these to us. They would rather I pay $10 a month to rent a box.

I have an IR blaster to control the Digital Box channels for the HVR1600. Other analog tuners run straight out of the cable outlet with the internal tuners. There is a limitation of GBPVR to control multiple IR blasters with multiple DTA boxes, so it is the end of my analog cards.

I am now using HDHomeruns with OTA local channels.

Good for you. I wanted to go this route, also, but could not make it work 100% reliably.

(ps you need to update your sig Smile)
