Hello,

I couldnt get GBPVR to work in windows 7 with a ATI 550 tv card, so I switched to a Hauupagge PVR150. It doesnt recognize my card, when I click to only show cards installed it doesnt show it as an option. Any idea why not?

I have the latest drivers installed for it and Windows 7 sees it.

By the way this is GBPVR 1.4.7.. I just now went back to GBPVR 1.3.11 and it seems to find my ATI 550 card, when 1.4.7 thinks it is a 650 card.. any idea why that is?

Thanks!

If you run filtercheck.exe from the GB-PVR directory, then attach the filtercheck.log, I'll check the PVR150.

Hey Sub,

Neither the ATI 550 nor the PVR150 worked with 1.4.7.. I installed 1.3.11 and they work fine so I will just stick with that I guess.

Thanks!

@b00sfuk - how much memory are you running? I'm not clear on the Hauppauge warning about 4GB. I'm planning to go to 32 bit Win7 on a machine with 4GB and I'd like the PVR150 to work.

Using 2GB, not aware of 4GB problem.

The Windows 7 "support table" that Hauppage has on their web site is a bit confusing.

Click here to view the table.

If you look at that, you would think the PVR-150 is fully supported, except the limitations noted about 32-bit and 4GB memory. But some people are still having troubles?

And it would appear that the PVR-250/350 won't work at all with Win 7. But some folks claim they DO work under Win 7 with the "right" drivers.

Anyway, I think it's a bit "hit and miss" on the older cards, but the PVR-150 and PVR-500 SHOULD work, except for the noted caveats.

I had two systems using PVR 350 running succesfully, 1 on Vista the other on XP. Updated both to Windows 7.
The Vista was an upgrade and retained all the settings and drivers for PVR 350. Even though Hauppauge say that the 350 is not compatible with Windows 7 everything works as it should.
The XP was a complete reload (not able to update XP to Windows 7), PVR 350 was not recognised. Replaced the 350 with a 150 card, downloaded the files wintv6_cd_4.6b.exe and pvr-150-500_2_0_48_25037_whql.zip from Hauppauge installed and everything works fine.
It appears that a new instal of Windows 7 can't find the drivers to be able to use PVR 350

Saw that table & read a few more posts about x64 with 4+GB not working with the 150. I have an 8GB x64 7 box I want to put the 150 into for WMC use...but now...I'm asking myself why would Hauppauge do something stupid like this? Being that x64 will handle as much memory you can throw at it & is the future...it seems like they're more concerned with forcing you to upgrade than getting their hardware to work. Guess I'm going to get another UB435-Q from NewEgg & not ever bother with any overpriced device Hauppauge puts out.
