Hi,

I'm new to GBPVR and before buying some Hauppage PVR card I decided to try my Matrox G400 Dualhead, which has very decent DVDMax TV output.

Should this card work with GBPVR?

I do not succeed in getting the OSD on the DVDMax TV output. I do see the OSD on my main display, and when I for example selected 'DVD', the movie starts playing through the DVDMax TV output.

Is it possible to get the GBPVR OSD also through the DVDMax output?

Reading the forum gave me the impression it should be possble, but how?

Regards,

Paul.

No - sorry. GB-PVR does provide OSD on some specialist devices like the XCard and PVR350, but the Matrox G400 isnt a device I've implemented support for.

i have a g400 with attached tv-screen, but without a monitor. dvdmax and clone are activated and i use gbpvr in overlay mode. the osd is visible when playing mpeg or divx, xvid-files. watching a dvd i see no osd, but i think, there is no osd in dvd-mode...

am i right?

Can you see the main GBPVR interface? Does mpeg or divx play just as smoothly as when playing a dvd movie? I am wondering if you are just seeing the computer using the TV as a monitor and then switching to DVDMAX mode when a DVD is inserted.

maybe. the videos play just fine, even when i use ffdshow. but the quality watching dvd-files is much better then the mpeg- or divx-files.

strange, since the overlay mode should render the osd too.

I think I am at your point now. If I set the TV as the primary monitor the card renders the menus (working like a monitor) but as soon as I jump into live TV DVDmax kicks in and I can't see any OSD. What I really am missing is the guide, current channel and any OSD that plays over the Live TV. This is too bad as DVDmax's output is awesome. Anyone have any comparisions between a G400/G450 and an Xcard in mpeg output?

hmmm...have you tried to disable dvdmax? just for testing? interesting behaviour...i see the osd, which means, that there is no dvdmax activated. probably the quality of the output isn't that good...

i'll try a bit with my g400 and post the results...
