I'm having some issues getting NPVR set up and working properly with my Ceton card. I've followed all the various guides to get SageDCT set up, all the newest patches for NPVR, NetworkRecorder installed, and think that I have everything as it should be. But I haven difficulties trying to play live TV and recordings in NPVR. Initially, I had the same black screen problem that numerous other threads seem to have. After reading quite a few of them, I somehow managed to solve that problem, but it's still not working quite right. I now get video just fine, but no audio. Additionally, the lenght timer in the bottom left of the live TV screen seems to count down from 00:00:02... So after 30 seconds of watching video, it says 00:00:-28! And on some channels, the video only plays for a few seconds before freezing (and the count down freezes too). I can record these channels ok, it seems, but the recordings still play back in NPVR with no audio (and don't seem to play in VLC at all). Ultimately, I'd like to have this set up with XMBC, but I haven't even tested it with XMBC yet since I can't get it to work right in NPVR. I'm guessing there might be some simple fix that I'm missing, but after reading so many threads, I'm fairly well thoroughly confused! Any help would be greatly appreciated! Just let me know what information you need me to provide. In the mean time, some of my details are below:

OS: Windows 7 x64 Pro
Card: Ceton InfiniTV 4 with Comcast cable card (works perfectly in WMC)
Installed SageTV, Installed NPVR, Copied NVPR patches, Downloaded NetworkRecorder, Configured 1 of the 4 tuners with NPVR NetworkRecorder, Downloaded channels/EPG through free trial with SD
Logs attached!

Do you have this update for live tv http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post449983

The no audio is simply you don't have an AC3 decoder installed

2013-02-05 22:45:12.940 [DEBUG][1] Adding system AC3 decoder
2013-02-05 22:45:12.940 [ERROR][1] Unable to find named decoder

Many like AC3Filter, I prefer ffdshow for more audio types and I think LAV works too.

No, I don't have that patch. Where exactly should I put that file, the main NVPR data folder? (C:\Users\Public\NVPR on my system)

EDIT: N/M, figured it out (sorry, it's getting late!), dropped it in the program folder to replace the old file!

Ok, I copied the patch over, and it seems to be better, but not fixed. Live TV freezes somewhat less often, but still does so sometimes. Before, for example, it would freeze probably 5 out of 6 times, now it's more like 2 out of 6. And so far, it seems to be mostly the SD channels that freeze. I don't know if it's luck or what, but the HD channels rarely freeze. Also, the time code no longer counts down, but now it just doesn't count, it's stuck at -00:00:00, though it every once in a while will flicker to -00:00:01, then return to zero.

Along those lines, I have it set up right now that all the channels are using MPEG2 in SageTV. Is this correct, or should the HD ones be using H264?

Finally, I installed ffdshow, thanks! That fixed the audio.

Any thoughts on the freezing video/odd time code (what should that time code display, exactly)? Thanks for the help!

What happens if you up the delay to 6000 or 7000 and restart the recording service? Maybe SD doesn't get delivered as fast because it doesn't need the bandwidth.

Ok, bumping the delay up to 7000 seems to be enough (I had it at 5000), as I tuned a bunch of different channels and it didn't freeze on any (SD or HD). I was messing around just to see how it was working, though, and discovered that if I paused it, then fast forwarded to catch up, as soon as the feed hit live TV, it would freeze again. (From reading the thread you linked to before, is that the same issue where NPVR thinks it's playing a completed recording, in which case it just hit the end of the file and stopped?)

Thanks!

Sub would have to answer your questions on timelines, and on pausing on seeking in the stream it is all his custom logic To me it looks like NetworkRecorder is doing the best it can to deliver data. I expect your experience would be better watching recordings or even recordings in progress.

Ok. It seems that the issues are resolved as best as possible at the moment, so thanks! Though after playing with it for a bit, it seems that the seekbar/timer for live TV's not accurate, but it's fine with recordings. And I can pretty reliably kill the stream by trying to seek forward when I'm too close to live. If there's anything I can provide to help out, let me know! I appreciate your help!
