NPVR - streaming live TV possible?

I have downloaded hobring's pack, will message him to unlock, but do I need to download ffdshow as well?

I think I read that his decoder pack includes ffdshow, so no you would need to install it separately.

and why not the 64 bit experimental?

NextPVR is a 32bit application, and 32bit apps can only see 32bit decoders.

Ahhh... so that is why ffdshow didn't work .. lol. BTW while waiting for the key I downloaded the XVid codec pack (only, no player) and MKV works now in WMC and WMP... and a registry entry to enable them to recognise MKVs also worked. Is Hoborg's pack better than XVid considering I do not need a lot of codecs, just the minimal set? Xvid has around 4 options to configure lol... and yes it has an option to use DXVA...

I installed npvr 2.6.2 so it includes the newa
I also went into settings (in the windows 7 computer where I have npvr running) & looked at the clients tab and all.
I went into another computer on the same home network and tried: http://ip_of_windowscomputer:8866 and it failed with error
The requested operation cannot be performed on a file with a user-mapped section open.

basic question:
do i need to have the nmt box for this to work ? (i.e. will work only from NMT box or will it work from browser on any computer)

NEWA should work on any modern browser, try http://npcrcomputer:8866/guide2.aspx it should bring up the tv guide with the menu to access recordings etc.
