One Re-occurring recording not happening

I have one re-occurring recording for all new episodes of Warehouse 13 on SiFy channel that isn't working. IT never records. I deleted an recreated it and I checked for conflicts also. When I look at pending is shows nothing for it even though I know there is a new episode coming up. Any ideas?


Update: Never mind. I just found out that the episodes that I thought were new were the last two from last year.

Update: Never mind. I just found out that the episodes that I thought were new were the last two from last year.

If this should happen again, check nrecord.log from when npvr updates the epg, it will show you what is actually scheduled or why not.

I do have a further question. I checked the guide for next Monday and a new episode is going to be aired. But at that same time another series on another channel is going to be recorded. Two hours later that same new episode of Warehouse 13 will be on but it appears that the recording scheduler does not know to look of that episode if it can't record at the original time. Is there a fix for that? Basically have I have two series showing original episodes at the exact same time.

It depends on how you set up the recurring recording, if you set it to record daily or weekly npvr has a timeslot of +/- 90 minutes from the original airing time, shows before or after that time window will not be considered. If you set it to record only new episodes and the later airing is marked as a rerun in your epg, it will not be recorded. The safest it to ask npvr to record all episodes, but then again you will get a lot of episodes that you have already recorded.

The time window mentioned can be adjusted in Config.xml, so maybe extending that to 120-130 minutes can solve your problem.

Big Bang Theory shows new and rerun episodes about 70 times a week on at least two channels in the UK. I was able to record without duplicates by selecting "All Episodes All Channels" in Recordings and by checking "Avoid duplicate recordings where possible" in Settings --> Recordings.
