I was trying to get NPVR to work with a Roku box roughly a year ago. I was using post processing to convert to .mp4, but with a older pc I had to abandon the effort.

I recently built a new htpc box with an Asus AM 3+ board, 8 gb of ram, and a free used dual core 2800 cpu.

Addressing a few configuration issues and plugin setups, I now have a rock solid, not to mention kick ass htpc system. I now want to try the Roku setup again.

Guess the first question should be if this cpu is sufficient? Secondly, go the post processing route or stream with PlayOn and Universe. I would prefer to stream if I have the ooomph!

Thanx, Greg

I saw an NextPVR private channel when I looked last night. Haven't tried it but installed it. Also I use Plex on my NextPVR box (AMD A8) and that can transcode small enough for a iPhone, so a Roku 3 should be no problems.

I have done some research and most of what I found is a few years old. From what I can see my choices are Plex for streaming, or post processing to convert to NPvr Roku channel. Not sure which way to go or try first.

More opinions will be greatly appreciated...

i use Playon with my WD boxes to stream recordings, I would assume that would work just as well for the rocku.
