OSD gives black screen

Have you found any solution to this problem??? I'm using a ATI AIW Radion 9000 Pro video card and I have these codecs InterVideo NonCSS Video Decoder for Hauppauge,
CyberLink Video/SP Decoder (ATI), The interVideo give me the OSD, but as you say the Cyberlink(ATI) gives a very much a better picture, but no OSD. While the OSD is on the screen, video is blacked out and sound continues. GB-PVR is great, I'm using the release from 4/15/05 I forget the number. I haven't tried the newest one yet. Oh and I'm on Windows 2000 pro with all the updates, DirectX 9c. Etc

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks..........Robert

Yes, I finally have a solution.

I tried the Omega drivers recommended for Radeons elsewhere on the forums, but they made no difference.

In the end, after trying all sorts of stuff, I bit the bullet and upgraded the PVR machine to Win XP Pro. Hey presto, OSD works properly in Overlay mode.

No more black screens!

Thanks for an answer, though not what I was looking for. I just can't justify the cost of XP for a dedicated PVR. But here is a couple of things that I've found out incase it helps anyone else running an ATI AIW Radeon 9000 PRO and Windows 2000 Pro.

I downloaded the trial of powerDVD 6 and used the codec for that, and OSD works during playback of recorded programs, although without the cool transparency effect. BUT it doesn't work in Live TV mode. (mini guide etc. give a black screen while OSD is up) but the codec does give a great picture.

Then I tried the trial of mainconcept Encoder 1.4.2. and guess what. OSD works in all modes, and the picture looks as good as the cyberlink codecs and allows VRM9. So I guess I'll go with this for a while.

Understand about the cost. I only upgraded as I get XP free through my work.
