I haven't tried your suggestion yet, but to answer your question, this is a new install..sort of. I just recently built my HTPC and was playing around with different PVR backends to work with XBMC. I originally tried NextPVR because there were a lot of good reviews. This was must have been about a week before you released the latest version. I was having issues with the EPG, so I decided to look at other options. In the long run, I decided to give you guys another try because of other issues I was having. When I went to do that, I got the note saying that there was an update. I attempted to upgrade, however I got all these installation issues. So at that point, I completely uninstalled, then downloaded the new version fresh. I suppose if the uninstall didn't remove all the files correctly, maybe that's causing my issues, or at least maybe causing the new install to not work correctly.

OK, forgive me if I'm missing something. I if the database update is supposed to be in the setup somewhere, I'm missing it. Also, I don't see a database file at all in my directory. What am I missing?

The database file is c:\users\public\npvr\npvr.db3 (on Vista and above)

From a command prompt try running "nextpvr.exe -updatedb" and it'll try re-applying the database updates from the release.

I did attempt to do it from the command prompt, but I didn't try to do it from that directory, and maybe that's why it didn't work. I actually decided to try to uninstall again. I wasn't aware that there were files installed in the public folders and maybe that is again why something didn't install correctly when I tried to do this the first time, based on time stamps, there were definitely files in there that were created from the first installation I did a while back. I have deleted all the files now and uninstalled, so now I'm going to try and do another clean install and see if that fixes anything.

OK, good news to report. After completely removing everything and re-installing NPVR, looks like everything is working. I was successfully able to record what I was watching and set a timer and it looks like it's recording just fine. After this experience, here is a suggestion for a future feature. Give an option to export all your channels and EPG mapping. I don't know if it's possible, but that was the worst part about starting over was to go through one by one on each channel and edit them and map the XML file for the EPG info. Anyway, I will report back on this thread if for some reason there are more problems. I'll work on scheduling a few more shows and see how it works. Thanks for your help.

You can already do that using the "Export Channels" feature on the Settings->Channels tab.
