Hey Everyone,

I am in the process of setting up an NPVR solution for my mom and at the moment i have digital working fine. I however have been unsuccessful in getting the analog tuner to be recognized in NPVR. I read the wiki section and tried to do the batch file softpvr install. i then noticed that the tuner was not added in the list.

I am trying to use a dell angel usb tuner (worked fine in GBPVR) but have been unsuccessful in getting it to be recognized in NPVR. Any help. I am attaching the fiter log and would appreciate any help in what needs to be added to the file. In addition can someone confirm that the wiki method of extracting the softpvr info still works

Thanks
Imagn

If you have SoftPVR installed, then add this to AnalogDevices.xml and you'll be able to access the device in NPVR:
Code:
    <Device filter="Angel USB MPEG Device">
        <Name>Angel USB MPEG Device</Name>
        <Type>HARD_ENCODE</Type>
                <FilterEncoder>Angel USB Encoder/Mux</FilterEncoder>
    </Device>
If the device doesn't appear after you add that, then you haven't gotten SoftPVR installed correctly.

Once you have the device setup if you have problems with recordings try removing the "/Mux" from that last line. I'm not sure if it's needed for that device or not; the FilterCheck shows both ENCODER and MULTIPLEXER sections for that device.

Thanks johnsonx42,

it must be the softpvr component that is not installed correctly, will have to keep working on it.

you might be running into a bug in the SoftPVR.bat posted in the wiki. There was a bug found awhile back, not sure if it ever got fixed. Try my version, posted here: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post466872

Thanks for the help, unfortunutately i was not successful in installing softpvr from the batch file. Yours did seem to work better though, but i was able to eventually locate my wintv 7 cd and installed it and it worked, but thanks for trying to help.
