Yeah, sub's suggestion is about what I have. The problem is going to be executing against a program (NPVR) that isn't open or running. Any suggestions on what program I send the commands to? Ntray?

You started the thread with " Let's say you are watching Live TV on a client." clearly that implies NextPVR is running. EventGhost can launch it.

Never mind, I'm an idiot. I see what you're saying. Target NPVR running on the client rather than target anything running on the server. I didn't even realize until now that commands could be sent to the client NPVR. Now I do. Issue solved.

I see you've already worked out your own method, but fwiw someone did already create this whole thing in EventGhost, including a web app that would display a clickable remote similar to what you have in your first post (though not nearly as fancy). Unfortunately the files the creator(s) posted are long gone. I may have them somewhere, let me know if you want me to try and find them.
server: NextPVR 5.0.7/Win10 2004/64-bit/AMD A6-7400k/hvr-2250 & hvr-1250/Winegard Flatwave antenna/Schedules Direct
main client: NextPVR 5.0.7 Desktop Client; LG 50UH5500 WebOS 3.0 TV

That might be cool. If you happen to run across it, let me know. Don't work too hard on this though. Thanx.

this appears to be it. Remote iPad is the original version which includes the eventghost.xml file and the original web app, and then the www zip is an updated version of the web app which includes icons for the remote buttons.

here's the post for the original work by hasso: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post416972

the enhanced version with the icons by Antmannz is discussed a few posts down.

(edit: also check this post: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post427066 for a change another user reported was necessary to get it working; I have no recollection of whether I had to do this or not when I played with it)

I did download the files and play around with the eventghost remote. I got far enough to understand the remote interface and concluded I like my remote better, so I bailed on further work. Here is my client remote and a snap of the full screen monitor when in action. Most of the buttons are intuitive. Don't worry about from "Pioneer" down as those buttons control things other than NPVR and the buttons at the top, takes you to different pages and control different things in the house. "Kenwood = Audio. Before I get to this remote page, I have already chosen which server NPVR is a client to. Work (ie, windows) can be done right on top of the NPVR/Netremote windows. It works great and is super convenient.
