Hauppauge Remote

Hello All,

We are using WinTV7 to show educational videos and shows to small groups of employees for training purposes. We are using an Hitachi overhead projector. We would like to limit the amount of remotes in the training room.

Is there any way to configure the Hauppauge remote to power on and off the Hitachi overhead projector?

I don't know for certain about the Hauppauge remote, but, I expect it could not be configured to control the projector directly. If the projector can be controlled from the connected PC via a program on the PC, then perhaps the remote could send a command to that program. Would take some research and tweaking to make it work and there's not much assurance of success. A more likely approach would be to get a universal remote that con be configured to emulate a Hauppauge remote and a Hitachi remote. I think a Harmony remote could do this, but they cost $50 and up and would take some time to configure. I'd just put up with 2 remotes.

For what it's worth, I think it may be more appropriate to pose this question in the Hauppauge forum, given that what you are asking appears to be related to the operation of the Hauppauge IR software rather than NextPVR. They are likely to be in a better position to help you.
