Hello, all. I'm new to GB-PVR, having just installed v09108 (that's from the downloaded file name; not sure where to find the version within the software). All setup seemed to complete successfully, but when I elect to update the EPG, it starts up and shows "Requesting listing information from Zap2it.com", but never completes. My login on Zap2it works, showing Active status.

I'm in the US, running Windows XP SP2. Date and time on system are correct. I've disabled my firewall and tried. Watching the connection lights on my router, it seems to be active for several minutes after initiating an update, then traffic just stops. I've searched these forums, but found no resolution.

Suggestions on how to resolve this?

Thanx,
Jack

The first update can use a lot of ram and CPU, after the download from zap2it.com. If your CPU usage is still high, then its still in progress.

Never mind. It finally completed after about 15 minutes. Guess I was just being impatient in this high-speed world Big Grin .

Thanx for the reply, sub!

I am having the same exact problem. I've tried reinstalling the Hauppauge drivers and GB-PVR but it never finishes updating the EPG. Config.exe is in the upper 90s of CPU usage (altough the mem usage stops increasing?) but the transfer of packets comes to complete stop. My Windows XP SP2 firewall is off. All other internet connections work fine. I give it a good 20 minutes or so and nothing ever happens. My account is active at Zap2It. I can't figure this out. I'm close to giving up on GB-PVR but I don't want to!

System Time is right; Account is with labs.zap2it.com

Just be patient. I've heard some users report 45 mintues or more for the very first update. Subsequent updates are much much faster.

Personally it takes only 5 minutes on my machine, but I've got no more than 80 or 90 channels in my lineup.

Yes, once GBPVR downloads the data, it has to process it. That's why packet flow stops but processor usage goes up. Just wait. May take a while but it will finish eventually.
