Is the sharing of the HDHomeRun automatic? Can I configure MythTV to have both HDHomeRun tuners and also have NextPVR configured with both of them? If this is true, could I schedule Mythtv and NexttPVR to each record the same TV program at the same time?

No it's not automatic ... it's likely that any attempt to simultaneously use the same tuner on MythTV and NextPVR will not end well. You can have a device configured in both and use it in both just not simultaneously.

For what it's worth ... Simply stated, NextPVR copies a digital stream from the tuner to a file on disk unchanged. The quality of the recording will be exactly as good as the quality of the reception of the broadcast stream (minus any glitches introduced by the use of network tuners). I am pretty sure that the quality of recordings will be much the same in MythTV and in NextPVR ... the differences will be in ease of sonfiguring and using the software and in the quality of the support.

Okay, for the test, I'll disable the HDHomeRun in Mythtv and use them in NextPVR and see where that leads

So I got NextPVR working on my Win 10 system with HDHomeRun. Issues I had were:
1. needed to run HDHomeRun Setup first and scan channels
2. Then NextPVR found the tuner and I watched to videos to setup the channels and Schedules direct.
3. Had to find a MPEG-2 decoder since it's windows 10. I just installed an old copy of PowerDVD that came with my drive. (don't even have a DVD drive anymore)

I can setup recordings, view livetv, etc. Kodi on my Win10 machine that is running NextPVR works with the backend after Kodi addon is installed. Assume Kodibuntu system will work once the network parameters are setup right.
