This is a bit weird, over the last couple months Npvr has lost the settings for the recording directory, decoders, live tv buffer directory and the plug in directory settings twice.

It happened again last night though I'm not sure exactly when. I noticed it about 10pm when I tried to tune to a TV channel using a kodi box in the bedroom (raspberry Pi2) and got a lock up trying to tune to the channel. A check of Npvr showed a error along the lines of "no live tv buffer folder doesn't exist" (sorry don't recall the exact verbiage). A quick check of the settings found the live TV buffer directory has mysteriously changed back to the C drive from D:/buffer where it normally is. Fixed that then live TV was a black screen though had audio. Checking the decoders found almost all of them set to "disabled". Fixed that and then found all the plug-ins where checked. I normally only have TV Guide, Recordings, Live TV and exit checked.

As I said, I'm not sure exactly when it started but I had a recording which ended about 5:30pm which was fine and found the settings changed about 10:30pm. Anyone have any ideas about whats going on?

Sounds to me like your D drive is having problems. When it drops offline, NPVR will automagically revert to the C drive.

I have no ideas on the decoder settings changing, unless they are also stored on the D drive. Sad

I guess it might be the D drive dropping off but it's an internal drive and I don't see any smart errors so I think that's a fairly low probability. Npvr is installed on the C drive and all the settings are stored there so why would D drive dropping out cause all the other settings to be lost too? Its interesting that channel and EPG mapping info isn't lost though.

There is a bug in writing config.xml unnecessarily that might be problem, sub has fixed for a future release.

Also I am not sure but you might need more than four menu items available.

If you are getting the error in Kodi that error message might be generic in pvr.nextpvr probably best to upload a debug Kodi.log

I spoke too soon... I discovered the EPG didn't update and checking it I found it had lost the login info for schedules direct.

Something definitely messed up somewhere. I reinstalled over the top of the existing install, hopefully that will get it back on track.

The Kodi issue was just because it couldn't tune to the channel as Npvr couldn't serve up the channel due to loosing the live tv directory location.
