If I do a recurring series, all episodes, will NPVR look in its series folder to see if the episode is already there even if it is not in the database.

For example, (totally made up series name) If I want to record series "NPVR This Week" and I already have "NPVR This Week.S02E20.Importance of uploading your logs files when asking for support.ts" but it is in the EPG guide and not in the database, will NPVR schedule that episode or see it in the folder and not schedule it?

Second question, what happens if NPVR names things "NPVR This Week" (all caps) and I have something named "NPVR this week"? (Not all caps) Will it recognize it is the same even though the words aren't capitalized?

*Don't miss the irony of the fake episode name, no logs needed for this question. Smile

I've looked around the forum for an answer. I have either missed it or there is no questions asking this. I probably didn't dig deep enough.

If you haven't broken it at least once, you're not doing it right.

No, it wont look at the files in your folder. It only knows about recordings it has made (from data in the database).

It shouldn't care about the case being difference when searching the guide for shows to record.

Each episode has it's own unique code in the database so that's how it knows if it's recorded something already, correct?
Meaning, Schedules Direct (for example) assigns each show it's own "inventory number" and that's what's used in the database.
