Are NextPVR and kodi installed on the same machine? If so, just use the default IP address of 127.0.0.1

If NextPVR on a different machine, you can use enter the machine's IP address or the machine's name.

To find the NextPVR machine name, right click on the Windows 'Start' button, and select 'System' from the menu. This screen should show you the machine name. Alternatively, run a command prompt, and run "ipconfig", and it'll list the IP address.

I think the issue has a completely different root cause.
If I connect to the NPVR using a local browser I get the following:

i went to what is my ip, got IP to PC running NPVR and it still cannot find host PC. how do i get the PVR IP address?

The IP returned from WhatIsMyIp.com is the IP of your router on the internet, that is NOT the IP of your NPVR machine on your local network that Kodi needs. Secondly, you have not described your setup. Is Kodi and NPVR on the same machine, or are they on separate devices?

Answer these questions one at a time and we can probably get your system going

1. Do you have NPVR running ? i.e. Can you see a channel list and select TV broadcasts on it? Make sure NPVR is functioning before trying to connect the Kodi interface.

2. Is NPVR and Kodi running on the same machine?
if so, use 127.0.0.1 as the host name in the Kodi config
if not, on your NPVR machine, open a cmd prompt and type IPConfig. In the output you will see a line like below. That is your NPVR machine IP Address. Use that as the IP address in the Kodi config

3. At this point you should be able to connect to NPVR from Kodi. (Unless there is a firewall blocking, but I think the install opens the necessary ports on the NPVR machine)

I have given up on trying to get this work on kodi.
Worthless program if it will not work properly when set up correctly as shown on website.
