Lost all "Playback Position" functions including green "Watched" bar!

I have been aware of a problem for a while but it has not been enough irritation until today for me to look for the cause. Looking at the database it is easy to see there is a problem as the "PLAYBACK_POSITION" table has no entries for the last 4 weeks. An easy fix like reinstall of NextPVR didnt help. It was when I tried to delete one of the old entries that I found the problem which is that the table has somehow become Read Only! Google for once has been unable to find a solution how to make the table read/write! All the fixes seem to be for Read Only databases! Has anyone had a similar problem or knows how to cure the problem?

After a reboot I'd look to see if there are any hidden files that seem related to sqlite.

Problem solved! I have gone back to using X-NEWA as my NextPVR client instead of the NextPVR New Client!!

I eventually did a clean install but that didnt help! However I noticed the last entries around the start of April was about when I stopped using X-NEWA as my client and started using the new client!! I reinstalled X-NEWA on one of my clients and after playing a recording for a while and exiting the "Resume" and "Unwatch" options appear for that recording and the green "Watched" bar is also back and obviously the PLAYBACK_POSITION table is again being updated.

If you actually want to help get this fixed, duplicate the problme and post the NextPVR logs using knew4v5 otherwise the problem will continue when you have to upgrade to NextPVR v5 I cannot readily duplicate this here.

Enclosed are the server logs and the location of the Kodi logs using "NextPVR New Client" and NextPVR server v4.2.3. Play starts 11:02 and stops 11:03 then second recording starts 11:03 and stops 11:04. Kodi logs at:-

I have a spare client which connects to my V5 Windows test server and the function partially works on that setup. An entry is created in the PLAYBACK_POSITION table and an entry is created in "Duration" but "Position" is blank. The only menu option created is "Unwatch". I will post logs for that in the V5 pre-release section to combine with the problem I reported a few days ago about exiting playback of a recording.

I understand the issue now you aren't using the NextPVR osd during video playback so there is no server side ability to set the playback position

Most of the problems do seem to go if I switch to the NPVR OSD when using the V4 server. However the big skip using the up/down keys seems very unreliable and often does nothing.

Using the V5 server using the NPVR OSD also improves things and no longer get the blank screen on exit of a recording and dont need to use the "Back" key and "Stop" key again to get back to the menu. However Skip is unreliable and jumps 10 seconds forward and back instead of +60 and -30 I have set. Also 10 minute +/- skip does not work at all.

Let me know if you need any logs and will do it tomorrow and cannot do any more today!

I have put it back, when I wrote 2.6.6 I didn't have the save API available for v5. The only thing missing is filename save through the Video Library since sub doesn't support that yet.

I think NextPVR has a big skip with up and down arrows, that would be a Kodi thing, it is 1-0-right etc.

Post v5 issues to the v5 forum, many keystrokes are still not working as expected.
