Yes, it's working. The key words here are "where possible".

Web browsers can play very few types of content. Everything else needs to be transcoded. Pretty much the only time you're going to be able avoid transcoding for playback in the web app is if you're using IPTV channels (since they're already in a format a browser can play), or for some "Extras" devices (which are using H264 video + AAC audio).
Did you make a change with extras? I stopped transcoding mine because NextPVR also was transcoding them.

Yeah, I think so. Unless you specify a service type, it's a assuming the channel is H264+AAC, and able to be streamed directly.

as a general rule, if your Extra is having to encode to something, like it was originally raw audio/video etc, then you should transcode it to H264+AAC, so it can avoid scenarios of having to transcode a second time later.

I think extras default to 4121 and I only know how to override radio My probe show this.

Code:
{"Stream #0:0":{"stream":"Stream #0:0","pid":"0x100","metadata":"Video: h264 (High) ([27][0][0][0] / 0x001B), yuv420p(progressive), 1280x720 [SAR 1:1 DAR 16:9], Closed Captions, 29.97 fps, 29.97 tbr, 90k tbn, 59.94 tbc","lang":null},"Stream #0:1":{"stream":"Stream #0:1","pid":"0x101","metadata":"Audio: aac (LC) ([15][0][0][0] / 0x000F), 44100 Hz, stereo, fltp, 92 kb/s","lang":null}}

If you want to provide a bigger snippet of log, I'll try to check what's happening.

To close this thread, sub and I worked offline and now extra devices aren't transcoded when they create the file to spec.
