I had a create time last evening to get my KNC one tv station DVB-s to work.
this is what I did:

I got the bda drivers from knc ( http://www.knc1.de/download/KNC_DVB_BDA_Driver_MCE.zip ) there's no mentioning that the DVB-S is supported but they are, infact its just the philips reference drivers with probely only the driver name has changed, maybe they work with other boards based on the philips S12xx chipsset to.

added the folllowing to the bda.ini:
[KNC One TV-Station DVB-S]
TUNING_TYPE=DVB-S
FILTER_TUNER=TV Station DVB-S Tuner (SU1200_K)
FILTER_CAPTURE=TV Station DVB-S MCE (SU1200_K)
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

I have an universal LNB en used the following for LOF1 etc
9750 , 11700, 10600

and of course get the channel information with xmltv.
Now I'm playing with the playback setting to get it more stable, on the pc I got the picture and sound resable but on the mediaMVP it stops after ca 5 secs (will try the new build this evening).

Sub, are you planning to support a CAM, I live in the Nederlands and all dutch channels are encoded, subscription is for free (one time buy of card (70 $) ) but you still must have :mad:

Cheers for the bda.ini setting for this device. I've added it to the master file that gets distributed with each release.

I've not spent much time on focusing on the combination of DVB and MVP, so things are a bit rough on that front. The biggest problem here, is the mux filter that is used for recording (including timeshift tv) doesnt start generating an MPEG2 file for several seconds (which can make for a slow live tv startup and channel change). The MVP doesnt like having to wait and sometimes disconnects if it thinks it's waited too long.

This delay is present because the mux filter waits until it received certain audio and video packets from the DVB device, and has recieved enough information to determine stream bitrate etc. There is no easy way around this. The mux is also a third party component, so I dont have any ability to change it to produce data sooner.

CAM support is very specific to each card, because the BDA standard does not cover this, and you have to end up relying on a custom proprietary interface for each manufacturer. I do have CAM support for the Twinhan CI cards.
Sorry, I dont have CAM support for your card. To do this I'd need one of the cards, and information from the manufacturer telling me about their interface to the CAM.

I use the Cyberlink Mux but will try the other two and
who knows maybe someday I run into a Twinhan CI and will try to get my dutch channels.

Last question in the ffdshow setting I turned "let graphedit connect to graph" on and that works if I play the livetv on the PC but not if I play it on the MVP not even with the option use ffdshow for transcoding in the MVP section of playback.
Is there a way to let graphedit connect to the graph during playback on the MVP and is this done in the same way as recording (I would asume so)?

Thnx for the info so far and of course for the product it self.

There is no graph for playback of MPEG files on the MVP, this is all done in hardware on the device (so ffdshow etc isn't used).

I meant livetv playback on the MVP, surely for the video receiving part there is a graph where the mux is used in? In the log file I can see the used components, but not how they are connected.
I updated to version 9.11b yesterday evening but that did not improve the situation I do not have a picture during livetv on the PC any more, the sound is ok, recording also work fine, I did not check MVP output.
When I do a channel switch I get a new window in which the video is shown ??
When i connect to the graph during livetv on the pc I see that there are two video rendering part in the graph, the ffdshow is in it but has the input pin not connected, basicly it does not make must sens, I think I need to cleanup my pc and reduce the amount of codecs, I let you know how that work out.

cheers

When you use Live TV on the, there is a recording graph, but you cant connect to it in GraphEdit because I dont expose the graph via the Running Object Table. Because its not a playback graph, it doesnt contain ffdshow, so ffdshow cant add to the Running Object Table itself.

Sounds like your video decoder is incompatible with your renderer (usually cause by combination of Cyberlink + VMR, which are not compatible). Try explicitly setting the video decoder on the playback tab of the config app, rather than relying on 'system default'.

Hoi Sub,

Just to let you know that, after some garden days (its spring over here so the garden needed attention), I check my setting and found out that the decoder created the problems on the pc so that’s all solved now. For the MVP part I’m an afraid that I was a just your average stupid user, I shutdown one MVPserver but forgot the other, after I did that all was fine.
So end conclusion it work, thank for you time and keep the good work up.

Dear Sub
I noticed your statement below.

[QUOTE=sub]CAM support is very specific to each card, because the BDA standard does not cover this, and you have to end up relying on a custom proprietary interface for each manufacturer. I do have CAM support for the Twinhan CI cards.
QUOTE]

I have a Twinhan DVB-S CI card, but I only manage to get FTA channels to work (which is only BBC World i my case). I have the 1.2.1.9 ones. Does GBPVR really support CI/CAM for both DVB-S and DVB-T? (I have a Conax CAM)

I really like the GBPVR but is totally dependant on getting more than FTA.

Thanks!
