Hi sub,

With 5.0.5, NPVR needs some help to playback LiveTV from the Web interface.

In WebUI, Go to guide or channel list, select something to watch, Playback screen opens and msg at bottoms says "starting device, collecting data etc"

Playback controls then show the "pause button" signifying that playback has started, the time counter is active - counting up, BUT, the screen is blank.
Pressing the pause button followed by the play button starts playback ok

This happens every time a program is selected for watching.

LiveTv playback from the App itself or in Emby does not exhibit this behaviour. It works just fine.

You'll need to attach all the logs.

Try watching tv in the web app, then use the Settings->About screen's "log files" button to collect them.

What browser are you using?

Browser = Firefox 76.0.1 (64-bit)

EDIT: just tried it in Chrome Version 81.0.4044.138 (Official Build) (64-bit) and it works fine, playback starts OK.

It's probably just the browser blocking auto playback of video, like its an advert you probably don't want to see. Usually if you move your mouse over the window, you'd see a red error message telling you the browser blocked playback.

From memory, in firefox it's usually fixed by clicking the small symbol immediately to the left of the url in the browser address bar, and telling it to allow video playback.

Good call. Never had that happen before and don't remember explicitly banning this site, but do remember turning off auto play videos because I absolutely hate that sites like Facebook and News sites etc that autoplay videos - sometimes at a very loud volume when I'm not expecting it.

Thankfully it's pretty straight forward to you selectively enable it on a site by site basis.
