Unable to change password

So this is a fresh OS install, with the NPVR config and DB copied from the previous one but now I come to try to change the password I can't.

Error attached below reads Failed to update password. Confirm you've entered you existing password correctly

I've tried a number of times, remotely and locally - no dice...

The logs are also a bit odd in that this install has never seen the Hauppague stick, only an HD Homerun (The previous install had the Hauppague stick until I upgraded)

I can login fine, so admin/password is working, but I have just set up Nginx as a reverse proxy so I can access remotely and apparently that's not a secure username password combo to expose to the internet...

Copying the database and config.xml to a brand new installation will cause issues like you explain with tuners and passwords.

Stop the server change

<PinMD5>4A7D1ED414474E4033AC29CCB8653D9B</PinMD5>

and restart the server, you should be prompted for the password with admin/password.

The password hash was already as you quote, but in caps, so forst time I didnt bother to change and it still failed - copy what you put and it worked!

Out of interest, what are the permanent sids?

The permanent sid's are set when you save the password from the browser and there is another matching setting in the browser. That is why you could login

I wish this was working for me. pulling my hair out. I changed password earlier and pin and now i can get into web interface. please help

edit. NM I used brute force. jest deleted config.xml and restarted
